There are two important items we would like to bring to your attention.
FIRST: WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH GBS?
We are pleased to advise that the GBS Board has just earmarked $15,000 towards Albanian, Ukrainian and Russian Scriptures. Funds have also been earmarked for Bibles for India, Philippines and several other countries. Many projects we are doing directly through other agencies. Agency agreement forms required by Revenue Canada have been signed by some of the organizations that we have worked with in the past.
Many new churches have been started in Peru over the last 20 months or so. Many new believers are without Bibles. Pray as the Bibles which recently arrived in Peru will soon be in the hands of those whose hearts are hungry for the Word of God.
We are thankful to God that the last shipment of Bibles reached Eastern Russia just after the 30% customs tax was lifted.
There are many other exciting things the Lord has been doing.
It is your privilege to continue to send your donations for the work of GBS to the Brampton office. Charitable receipts will be issued for income tax purposes and the funds will be used for the work of providing Scriptures to those in need. Projects presently needing funding include Scriptures for Central and South American countries, India, Philippines, Russia, Bibles for prison and seamen ministries etc. We expect to eventually receive letters back from those who are provided with these Scriptures and will share them with you.
If you have not renewed your Membership, I would urge you to do it now on the form provided. If you are a Life member and we have not heard from you for some time, please indicate on the enclosed form that you are a Life member and wish to be kept on the mailing list.
In closing, we would request that you continue to pray for us as we seek God's wisdom and leading as we press forward in the cause of the distribution of the Word of God among all nations. We appreciate the many encouraging letters and phone calls. God bless you.
