"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet
of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace: that bringeth good tidings of
good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!""
Isaiah 52:7,
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I
sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the
hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap
their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier
shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting
sign that shall not be cut off." Isaiah 55:11-13
This is what our Conference is all about. This is why we have invited some to come and share with us on this very important occasion. We support one another's ministry in bringing "good tidings of good".
We have invited these ministries to set displays in order that you may be able to become better acquainted with them. Each representative has also been asked to share their ministry with us at the conference..
We believe that the 2001 & 2002 Conferences were but a "great taste" of greater things to come.
The words of our text of Isaiah 52:7 have both a spiritual sense as well as a plain and literal sense. The primary meaning evidently refers to the joy with which the proclamation of Cyrus would be received when he permitted the captive Jews to return from Babylon to their native country. They certainly relate also to the deliverance announced to us under the preaching of the gospel for it is this view that they are quoted by the Apostle Paul in Romans 10:15: "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
The gospel is a proclamation of "peace and salvation" to man. Man in his helpless and hopeless state is without peace and without God in this world, for "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". But by the redeeming power of Jesus Christ's atoning Blood man is by repentance and faith brought nigh unto God. "For God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him". Romans 5:8, 9.
"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:8-13.
What joy and peace one receives when they repent of their sin and by faith receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. GraceWay Bible Society in publishing the Sciptures and working together with others, can say, "Behold, I [we] bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord" Luke 2:10,11. Thus I conclude by saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men" Luke 2:14.
